Do you know what time it is? It’s time for another meeting. But first, who wants an espresso? Quickly left and right hands rise for a brief moment above our keyboards. The espresso maker brews a quick shot of caramel-colored joy in a cup; it’s all we need to keep our brains passing our ideas to our typing fingers. Being against the clock, deadlines have no fear knocking at our door.
The team circles around the whiteboard to brainstorm new approaches. It’s our interactive project management tool. Walking through user interface sequences, we storyboard processes. Task and content analysis showcases how users will interact and thus how page sequences are designed. That’s only the left side.
The right of the board explodes with a list of tasks. Our QuickGuides, billing solutions, outsourcing projects, debating cloud-computing and load-balancing solutions, implementing upcoming features, the big push for beta release; it’s all on the board.
Not a moment is wasted. “Hello, Quick.tv!” The phones are ringing all around me. London is calling. Actually, everyone is calling. Right when you hang up, someone else rings up; or we’re dialing out for a consult. I’m listening to multiple conversations as I type this; all the while QuickGuide videos are being exported into mpeg-4 format. Not a moment is wasted in the Quick.tv studio.
