Today at The Next Web is the ‘Rising Sun Start-up Presentations’ sponsored by Sun Microsystems. In affect, the majority of agencies have misunderstandings when grappling the cost-effectiveness of their budgets.

Can you recall the online video market before YouTube hit the front pages of New York Times? Most can’t even fathom what it was like before the days of YouTube, but it did exist. The problem of course was online video was simply too bleeding edge for the mainstream market before YouTube’s limelight showed consumers what was possible.

The paradigm shift is beginning to take shape for online video as more people gain access to faster connection speeds. Now in both time spent and number of viewers, online video is growing a rate twice that of television, according to a Neilson study.
The dominant player in this online video market is of course YouTube. In fact, YouTube is now the second largest search engine, even though it’s just for videos. YouTube’s first to market advantage is creating a major market for online video.
