In the past we’ve purposely kept quiet to focus on our ‘top secret development project’. However now we’re close to the BETA public release we’re ready to start talking, so here is the first of our weekly updates….

So what have we been up to?

In December we sponsored Twestival, which was a festive drinks event for the London Twitter community. The event was great success and was a fantastic opportunity to meet some really interesting individuals and even connected with some potential partners too! However the highlight of the month was winning the TechCrunch Talk pitch competition which involved a range of startups from the UK, Germany and even Iceland.

Following on from this event, co-founder Nick Bell, was interviewed by BBC Technology correspondent Rory Cellan-Jones and discussed the challenges of starting a company in the current economic climate.

Prior to signing off for Christmas Nick delivered one final pitch, however with a bit of a twist. This time he was faced with travelling backwards up an escaltor and audience commuters, to see if he managed to pull it off make sure you watch the Christmas episode of TechFluff.TV.

Although the New Year has only just kicked off we’ve already been busy discussing some UI enhancements with our UX partner Splendid and are also pleased announce the arrival of Tosh to our development team, who joins us from Sage.

Finally last week we gained some coverage in the local press about our recent funding round (more on that soon) and were invited to join the Microsoft BizSpark community, which is an innovative new program that connects Startups with entrepreneurial and technology resources.

That’s all for now, however there will be more news next week, including an interview with co-founder Nick Bell.

To keep fully up to date follow us on Twitter and make sure you request an invite to access the BETA version of Quick.tv.
