Quick.tv provided the live voting and strapline technology for the Telegraph Media Group coverage of Gordon Brown at the Iraq Inquiry today. The partnership follows last month’s hugely successful coverage of Tony Blair at the same Inquiry which also utilised Quick.tv technology.

The event is being delivered using Ooyala with a live feed provided by ITN.

UPDATE: While Prime Minister gave evidence to the Chilcot inquiry, 115,854 votes were cast in the interactive video poll as to Gordon Brown’s credibility, with 69.6 per cent of respondents indicting they were not per cent were not convinced by the Prime Minister’s evidence.

Here at Quick.tv we have been discussing the use of video in email marketing recently. It was interesting to see a new study from Implix, suggesting marketers are planning to grow their video implementation exponentially.

According to the company’s 2010 Email Marketing Trends Survey, over 80% of respondents plan to use video emails in 2010. Meanwhile, only 15.7% of responders used video in email campaigns during 2009.

Over 65% of respondents believe that video email marketing can have a moderate or significant influence on conversion rates. And almost 64% of marketers who have already used video marketing messages think it can significantly increase conversions.

Meanwhile, the company did a study last year that found video increased email marketing click-through rates by 96.38%.

Telegraph.co.uk to do live video streaming of Blair at Chilcot Inquiry

Telegraph.co.uk will be streaming video content live* from the Chilcot Inquiry as Tony Blair gives evidence tomorrow, Friday January 29, 2010. Telegraph Media Group (TMG) has also introduced a new, innovative feature to allow visitors to the website to vote on whether they think Mr. Blair is telling the truth during his evidence.

This ‘lie detector’ voting system, designed by Quick.tv, will give a real-time, on-screen poll of the public’s view as Mr. Blair addresses the Chilcot Inquiry.

This new tool is brought to Telegraph.co.uk viewers by a unique collaboration of TMG partners.  The live stream is provided by ITN, the video player is provided by Ooyala, and the on screen live voting interactivity comes from Quick.tv.

Quick.tv have been named as The Microsoft Startup of the Day. The news comes only a few weeks before Quick.tv unveil a top secret Silverlight 3.0 project which has been in development in conjunction with Microsoft for several months.
