  • Twitter, the New Value Network?

The shock and awe of value used to be about tangible products. Now it’s about the intangible value on the web, or the user experience augmenting the tangible. As an example, the iPhone isn’t just flashy; it’s user experience and connectivity as a periphery device is bar none.

As the web continues to proliferate into our daily lives, our access to information increases and our attitudes on this accessibility become commonplace. Digital landscape has no barriers of entry. As users, we create value networks; essentially communities around web services or products to share our voice, acquire and share information, and expand our affiliation and accreditation within the community. Like minds share alike.

As a user-centric approach continues to gain traction throughout the digital marketplace, more and more users will proactively channel their time to acquire and share. Businesses before the era of user-centricity used value networks internally to add value to product creation; now, the end-users are becoming producers. The value network has gone public, and users have chosen Twitter.

Twitter now has immense growth, and the dynamic interaction between producers of information and producers that channel information are increasing exponentially through Twitter. Nielsen Online just published new data indicating Twitter has more growth than Facebook within the United States; however, this doesn’t include the juicier metrics of Twitter’s API where Twitter users reside in the majority.

Businesses can now utilize Twitter as a value network, creating in essence a channel for interactive CRM. It’s a dynamic communication feedback loop for personalizing your brand on the web. Interaction with the user-centric approach is growing rapidly, and is a vitally cost-effective solution to market yourself, as well as grow an active rather than passive following.
